FARA Insurance Services, a provider of claims administration and risk management solutions nationwide, participated in the 65th annual Workers' Compensation and 22nd annual Safety & Health Conferences
held at the Orlando World Center Marriott in Orlando, Florida.
This conference is one of the largest of its kind having breakout sessions for adjusters, lawyers, judges, employers and nurse case managers/rehabilitation counselors. This year it has been reported that
the attendance exceeded 8,000 participants.
The yearly Educational conference is focused on Florida's Workers' Compensation and national trends, however, this year there were additional breakout sessions specifically covering multi-state workers'
compensation laws. Kathy Weisensee, a Claims Supervisor with FARA's Jackson, Mississippi office, participated in a panel discussion for the multi-state program that focused on issues for claim handlers,
claim supervisors, and claim counsel.
The panel discussed how employers, carriers, and third party administrators view workers' compensation exposures and how different perceptions impact decisions on files. They also discussed how all of these
factors affect the defense counsel's responsibilities within the claims industry.
The moderator and participants of the breakout session were varied in industry and experience. The diversity in the participants allowed for very insightful information to be shared amongst one another.
Being able to share valuable knowledge and communicate amongst her peers, Kathy demonstrated that FARA is not only concerned with advancing its own claims handling and practices, but also helping to progress
the entire claims industry forward.
